In celebration of the glory that is summer, and all the delicious bounty it yields, we are teaming up with chef Ben Schade of Old Salt Marketplace and throwing a big "Mexican Fiesta" themed party benefiting the soon-to-break-ground James Beard Public Market. We will be putting together some mouth-watering dishes and pairing them with sangria, horachata, and local beers and wines. Think lamb barbacoa, albacore ceviche, pork in red mole and grilled corn to name a few. Salt and Straw will be making delicious "chaco-tacos" for dessert too! To make it a real party we've got a live band booked to play as well! See the full menu and buy tickets through the James Beard Markeplace website at http://jbpm-fireside.bpt.me/. You can also buy tickets at Fireside. The event goes from 12-6 Sunday, Aug. 2nd. Good times will be had for a good cause! Hope to see you there! Only $35 gets you lots of food and drink, plus a fun Sunday afternoon!
On Monday, Nov. 17th we will be donating 10% of our total sales to the good people at Store to Door Oregon.
Established in 1989, Store to Door is the Multnomah County Aging and Disability Services preferred grocery assistance provider. In 2014, they received a Governor’s Award for their outstanding volunteer program.
They take orders over the phone and deliver groceries, prescription medications, and household items to seniors and people with disabilities.
Each year, more than 10,000 volunteer hours help them fill and deliver over 7,000 orders.
We are proud to feature them as our monthly charitable contribution!
Join us for lunch, happy hour, or dinner and help us help out some wonderful people!

First Sunday event in January benefiting Friends of the Children Portland.
It's that wonderful time of year when the forests around Portland are jam packed with delicious fungi! We thought for our next First Sunday event we would host a dinner in honor of one of the culinary delights that defines the Northwest: mushrooms!!
We will have a special menu this night showcasing the many varieties coming our way from local foragers. To round out the mushroom offerings, we are featuring beer and wine specials that pair wonderfully with these forest gems, and that are easy on the after-holidays pocketbook! Reservations not necessary, but accepted.
We are open at 5:00 Sunday Jan. 5th, and will be closing at 9:30. As usual we are donating 15% to this worthy organization. Help us help them, and have a delightful dinner while doing so!
Look for the mushroom dinner page for menu!
For the second event in our "Fireside First Sundays" series, The Fireside teams up with Mark Bitterman of The Meadow for a bitters-fueled evening of discussion, dining, and drinking! Join us for an animated presentation on the unbridled flavor of bitters wrapped around a three-course dinner, complete with inspired cocktail pairings by bar manager Sue Erickson. Mark and Chef Henry Kibit tasted their way through The Meadow’s more than 200 cocktail bitters to create a mouth watering menu that incorporates bitters into every aspect of every dish. This promises to be a fun and eye-opening event, and you will take home some new ways to incorporate bitters not only into your holiday cocktails, but in your snacks and dinners as well!
Seating is at 7:00. 3 courses, complete with cocktail pairings for $65 (not including gratuity)
Space is limited, call The Fireside to reserve @ 503-477-9505

November 3rd kicks off what will be a monthly event at The Fireside. Mark your calendars for the first Sunday of each month! The idea is to have a platform for us to highlight different charities we feel strongly about, while showcasing various wine makers, brewers, guest chefs or bartenders to create a special evening with the goal of giving back to our local and global communities. Join us for a fun evening that promises to fill your belly and warm your heart at the same time!
November 3rd we are featuring AFCAIDS. They are an organization who helps African children living with AIDS/HIV. One of our employees, Randy Jackson, is part of a group who are climbing Kilimanjaro next year to raise money for AFCAIDS and bring awareness to their cause and good works they do. Chef Henry Kibit has prepared a scrumptious fall dinner that we have paired with your choice of a select wine or beer with each course. An amuse will get your taste-buds going, and Randy will be here to talk about their mission and goals. We will offer 2 seatings this night: 6:30 and 8:30. Please call to reserve 503-477-9505
To make the night even more festive, we will have guest bartender Nathan Gerdes on hand preparing a special cocktail menu featuring some of Bacardi USA's products: Cazadores tequilas, Bombay gins, Bacardi rums, and Noilly Prat vermouths are a few of the spirits you may be sipping on. We will open the lounge at 4:00 and be pouring drinks throughout dinner. Come by for a drink before! The more you spend, the more we donate!! We are donting 20% of total sales from the night to this wonderful charity. Come in and help us make this night a success!
